EMI's History

EMI Business Communications, Inc. was established in Tennessee in 1978 as a service and installation contracting company.

From 1978 to 1984, EMI was contracted by ITT Business Communications as their exclusive service and installation company in Nashville.  In 1984, ITT decided to close their direct sales branches.

At that time EMI restructured by combining the best sales people from the branch operation with EMI's qualified service and installation staff.  We now sell and service a wide variety of products including:  Toshiba, Iwatsu, Samsung, and other nationally known systems.

Any product that EMI carries is first evaluated by our technical staff; we place a strong emphasis on reliability as well as serviceability.  We also install computer network cabling and other peripheral equipment.

Service comes first: our response time for a routine repair is generally less than 48 hours.  Emergency repairs are dispatched immediately and responded to within two hours in most situations.  Additions or modification requests are implemented within four to seven business days (depending on equipment needs).

EMI's rates are very competitive.  Our labor charge is based on half-hour increments at $45.00 and our minimum service charge is only $100.00 (includes first half-hour labor) within Davidson County.  We also offer low cost maintenance agreements with convenient payment plans.

If you choose to lease your system we will be happy to arrange it for you.  We use several lending sources in order to guarantee competitive rates.
